Personal assistants for young adults

We provide one-to-one personal assistant support for young adults with disabilities, opening up new horizons and increasing independence. Our personal assistants help young people (age 18 and above) with disabilities find their feet as adults. Support is designed around specific needs, helping the young person move away from dependence on parents – and helping the parents let go. We cover both physical and learning disabilities.

Building the life you want

We’ll help you build the life you want. Whether you’re planning to take up a job, go to university, move into your own home, or simply get out more, an Aceso personal assistant can make it possible. If you want to take part in sports and social activities, go to a gig or a club, pop to the shops or visit the park, you can. It’s your life, and you’re in control.

Support in the family home

Where young people are still living in the family home, our personal assistants give new freedom to both the young person and other family members. With professional support on hand, the young person can start to take control of their own life, going out and about as they choose. Family carers can relax and enjoy seeing the young person develop and mature.

Independent living

We can provide tailored support from personal assistants that allows young people to move out of the family home. The arrangement combines the freedom and flexibility of independent living with one-to-one practical and emotional support. Where young people need help to develop independent living skills, we can build that in.

Support workers for students

With our personal support workers, you can enjoy the full student experience. Live in halls, go to lectures, study, discover a new city, meet up with friends – you’ll have all the back-up you want, so you can join in and make the most of student life.

"We find all staff very professional and caring, the very best care agency we have ever used"

A friend who is there for you

Strong friendships develop between our personal assistants and their clients. That’s because our assistants understand that emotional support is often as important as physical help. Life isn’t all about doing things and being active. Sometimes, all you want is a chat over a coffee, or a quiet Netflix night in. And sometimes you just want someone who will listen, who you can trust to be on your side.

Personal support team

We will put together a small team of people to work with you, so there’s cover across all the hours needed and for holidays and sickness. You’ll have a main personal assistant who you see most – we’ll choose them carefully, to make sure they share your interests and will fit in with your life.

Flexible arrangements

We can agree whatever arrangements suit you best. That could be anything from a half day a week to take you out and about, to full-time live-in care for student life or other independent living.

What our personal assistants cost

The cost of our personal assistants depends on exactly what you need. We will discuss options and give clear pricing so you can decide what will work best for you.

Arrange a consultation

The best way to see how our personal assistant service could work for you is to arrange for a free no-obligation care consultation. One of our senior staff members will visit you at a time that is convenient to you and discuss your care and wellbeing needs, and advise on the most suitable options and costs.
